The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation is the primary professional organization for the study of dissociative identity disorder.
A schoolteacher (Melissa Joan Hart) faces accusations of statutory rape, a mother (Cynthia Nixon) with dissociative identity disorder is suspected of harming her daughter, and a closeted professional football star tries to prove his innocence when he becomes the prime suspect for the murder of his investment-banker lover.
The research team also studied the idea that paranoid delusions and other hallucinatory phenomena occur when the dissociative dreaming state involving replay of threatening situations is carried through into wakefulness.
