Concertos for double bass are something of a rarity, although one composer who took up the challenge was the splendidly named 18th-century Austrian Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf.
Still later, though still a boy, I studied classical music, that is studied the works of composers with names like Johann Sebastian Bach, or Georg Frideric Handel, or Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf, or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,a or Arnold Schonberg, or Alban Berg.
