A narrative poem, especially in medieval literature, in which the main character falls asleep and experiences events having allegorical, didactic, or moral significance.

He explains that the dream-vision scenes include both divine irruption into human experience and human perception of divine activity, and so mark an intersection between Luke's theology and anthropology.
