A river rising in north-central Spain and flowing about 772 km (480 mi) westward then southwestward along the Spanish-Portuguese border. It enters the Atlantic Ocean at Oporto.

Banderas, 49, who appeared in the Oscar-winning "Philadelphia" and supplies the voice of Puss In Boots in several "Shrek" movies, bought 50 percent of a state-of-the-art winery on the banks of the Duero River in March.
The Desperado star has become a co-owner of the renamed Anta Banderas winery at Duero River in northern Spain.
Two producers, Vega Sicilia and Pesquera, dominate but dozens of others have started to realise the potential of this part of the valley that stretches along the Duero river.
