A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We can confirm that Nottinghamshire Police arrested two people as part of a joint investigation with Dyfed Powys Police and the Information Commissioner's Office with alleged criminal offences under the Data Protection Act.
However we appeal for anyone who has specific concerns to call Dyfed Powys Police on 0845 330 2000.
A statement issued by Dyfed Powys Police said: "In response to claims in the media to the effect that former chief constable Mr Terence Grange allegedly covered up allegations of child abuse, Dyfed Powys Police today feel it necessary to respond in an effort to clarify the position and address public concerns owing to the media coverage.
