EarthStation III is a 386SX-based PC built into a 101-key, AT-style keyboard.
The contract will see the deployment of a new TANDBERG Television video head-end, including EN8030 standard definition encoders, at ESPN Star Sports' 73,000 square-foot state-of-the-art production facilities and earthstation in Singapore.
Designed to test new-generation digital switches such as the 5ESS, it can also put a wide range of other equipment through its paces, including channel banks, T1 multiplexers, large PBX installations and digital speech interpolators associated with earthstation equipment.
