The conference and the collection were organized in five sections covering classical materials and technologies, including mechanical engineering, electrotechnics, energetics, ceramics, and polymers; special materials and technologies, including nanotechnology, biotechnology, and other specialties; modern research and characterization methods; modeling and materials informatics; and innovative products and technologies, including industrial applications, technologies, and properties.
Physics, geometry, theoretical and applied mathemathics were the general subjects followed by strength of materials, theoretical and technical mechanics, thermodynamics, technical drawing, geodesy, electrotechnics, hydraulics and other technical disciplines.
The youngsters are all from Besancon - Huddersfield's twin town in France - and are studying for the Baccalaureat professional qualification in electrotechnics, energy and communication equipment.
