An artificially produced radioactive element whose isotopes have mass numbers of 288 and 289 and half-lives of two seconds and 30 seconds, respectively. Atomic number 114. Also called ununquadium. See Periodic Table.

Element 114 is the latest to join the periodic table, the chart of all existing elements.
A follow-up experiment last spring produced evidence that an isotope of element 114 having 173 neutrons had formed.
