But for members of Eleutherodactylus, the world's largest genus of vertebrates, young emerge from the egg or from Mom as tiny, fully formed frogs. Marsh studied two species of Eleutherodactylus frogs in snippets of forest in Ecuador. Estrada of the Institute of Forest Investigations in Havana with finding the first of the new species, which they informally call the eleuth frog after its genus, Eleutherodactylus. |
