DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS More than two decades ago, it was discovered that when treated with RA, the human embryonal carcinoma cell line NT2 differentiates irreversibly into several morphologically and phenotypically distinct cell types, which include terminally differentiated postmitotic CNS neurons [45-46].
CD30 and c-Kit (CD117) used in combination are known to be useful to distinguish between embryonal carcinoma and seminoma in the gonads.
