Our study considers the role of pharmacy access to emergency contraception in reducing unintended pregnancy among adolescents, and focuses on language barriers to such access.
Any girl at the four schools in Oxford and two in Banbury will be given the opportunity to ask for emergency contraception if they have had unprotected sex, or their contraception has failed.
The emergency contraception pill, which can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, will be given after a short and confidential consultation with a community pharmacist in a private consulting room.
