A thorough and very public review by Congress of how claims are filed, reviewed and paid - tied to legislation to curb the unchecked growth of these entitlement programs - is urgently needed.
It's the interest on our national debt that is just going to keep on piling up if we don't start controlling our spending and the future obligations of the entitlement programs that will eventually eat up all of the government's revenues.
In light of impending drastic growth in government entitlement programs, flat or even declining defense budgets are a high probability in the very near future.
