CEA's are epidermal cells (Keratinocytes) that are isolated from a small skin biopsy from the patient, cultured into sheets or suspension in the laboratory under aseptic condition and transplanted back to the same patient (autologous). The company's recent research has found that an extract of alpinia zerumbet stimulates hyaluronate synthesis of the epidermal keratinocytes and helps maintain skin's moisture. Analysis of the excised specimen detected epidermal ulceration with foci of necrosis in the hyaline cartilage, focal granulation tissue, and epidermal hyperplasia and hyperkeratosis; these findings were consistent with chondrodermatitis nodularis chronica helicis. |
