Coming as I do from the Christian tradition, I find the classic place of ethical speech in the apocalyptic wisdom literature of the Epistle of James.
See, for example, chapter two of the Epistle of James [147-53].
And from the General Epistle of James she quotes 1:22: ``Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
