European blueberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus) This is also known as bilberry.
With more than 100 names from around the world, bilberry also can be known by: huckleberry, whortleberry, European blueberry, myrtle bilberry, myrtle blueberry, myrtle whortleberry, Rocky Mountain whortleberry, red whortleberry, black grouseberry, low bilberry, mountain blueberry, huckleberry, and blueberry.
Unlike the vulgar blueberry, Vaccinium myrtillus - also known as the bilberry, European blueberry, blaeberry, whortleberry, bulberry, whinberry (or winberry), trackleberry, huckleberry or (in Ireland) fraughan - is rarely cultivated, but found mainly in the wild, growing on small, wiry shrubs little more than a foot high.
