The quirks of two kinds of European corn borers are giving researchers another way to study how a single species might split in two. It offers the same built-in control of tobacco budworms and pink bollworms as Bollgard, but shows improved control of cotton bollworms, as well as control of cabbage and soybean loopers, fall armyworm, beet armyworms, southern armyworms, saltmarsh caterpillars and European corn borers. |
