THE ROYAL STAR & GARTER HOMES has been caring for disabled ex-Service personnel at its home in Richmond, Surrey since 1916 and, for the last year, at its new state-of-the-art home in Solihull.
Mass standards led the parade of ex-service personnel, veterans and younger exservice persons with cadet units and repres sentatives of the police, fire service and ambulance service to the War Memorial in Coventry Road.
The ex-Service community includes many veterans of the Second World War as well as many others from the conflicts since 1945 including Malaya, Korea, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, the Gulf, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
