VENTURA - Former Thousand Oaks City Council candidate Daniel Avila pleaded not guilty Friday in Ventura County Superior Court at his arraignment on charges of computer fraud, identity theft and false personation.
This impersonator was eventually indicted on nine counts of false personation and extortion.
Former Thousand Oaks City Council candidate Daniel Avila was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony computer fraud, identity theft, false personation and election fraud charges, according to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.
