Residents of the Junction City Rural Fire Protection District narrowly approved their first new fire hall in 40 years Tuesday night, but city residents were rejecting proposed renovations to their police department and jail, 53 percent to 47 percent.
Voters in Junction City will be asked to fund jail and police department improvements and a new fire hall Nov.
5 million from voters - to build a new fire hall that would include living quarters for four "resident volunteers" to augment paid staff.
