MORE than 400 people have signed a petition to save one of the Warwickshire fire stations threatened with closure.
WORK started yesterday on building two new fire stations which are part of a new era for emergency 999 cover in Northumberland.
Tom Wright, chairman of Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Authority, said: "Our new community fire stations, like the one planned here, are a major step forward in achieving our vision of a safer community, ensuring our services are second to none.
