This 7-bp or 1-bp insertion causes a frameshift mutation in the pks15, resulting in an intact pks15/1 with additional codons (8). These include frameshift mutations caused by nucleotide insertion or deletion, as well as missense, nonsense, and splice site mutations (Abramowicz et al. colt in vitro model, a translesion synthesis enzyme (dinB encoded DNA polymerase IV) activity clearly promoted more important frameshift mutations (single-base deletions) in two thirds of the spontaneous mutants (10). |
