A substance consisting of killed microorganisms, such as mycobacteria, in an oil and water emulsion that is administered to induce and enhance the formation of antibodies.

Immunization Mice were given an intraperitoneal injection of 40 [micro]g peptide-KLH or unconjugated KLH in complete Freund's adjuvant (emulsified 1:1 with antigen in PBS).
To evaluate the anti-inflammatory activities of isolated phytoconstituents, models with carrageenan-induced acute arthritis and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced chronic arthritis in rats were conducted.
