| All the guinea pigs that received galantamine and atropine were alive 24 hours later, while only 11 percent of those treated with just atropine survived. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has decided to restrict access to donepezil, galantamine and rivastigmine to patients in the moderate stages of Alzheimer's disease.
