| Abbott's accused cyclosporin formulation, Gengraf, allegedly contained only hydrophilic excipients and the surfactant Span 80, asserted by Abbott not to be a "lipophilic component. It began legal proceedings to force Abbott Laboratories to withdraw their generic version, Gengraf, from the market, claiming that Abbott was using microemulsion technology invented and patented by Novartis. Gengraf is sold by the same sales force responsible for Thymoglobulin. |
