I'm off to a '70s revival' featuring a band that pays homage to glitter rock gods T Rex.
One contributor to his issue (Jeff Auer) begins his essay with the words, "Full disclosure: I came of age in the 90's," and goes on to reveal how amazed he was on learning that Bette Midler, to him a middle-of-the-road torch singer and star of Beaches, was once part of the Glitter Rock movement--who got her start entertaining gay men in New York's Continental Baths in 1971
You would have thought that this went out with Glitter Rock since they both showed up around 1972 but apparently there are still FTP groupies out there.
