The Army and Marine Corps systems were interoperable with the global command and control system (GCCS), which allowed for information exchange at higher echelons; however, these tactical systems were not designed to be interoperable with each other. She was promoted to Deputy Program Manager of the Joint Maritime Command Information System (JMCIS) and there established the technology infrastructure to consolidate all Navy command and control systems that later served as the common operating environment for the Global Command and Control System. The Global Command and Control System is the Department of Defense's computerized system of record for strategic command and control functions. |
