WHAT promised to be a classic turned into something of a disappointment but with Graeme Souness controlling midfield, Liverpool had the better of it.
FORMER Blackburn boss Graeme Souness has emerged as the leading candidate to take over at Ewood Park after Paul Ince was sacked yesterday.
Souness has strongly denied any wrong doing whatsoever and a statement published on the Premier League website reads: "We wish to make it clear that inconsistencies did not exist with in the evidence given by Graeme Souness to Quest concerning his role in transfers covered by the Inquiry during his time as manager of Newcastle United FC and neither the Premier League nor Quest have any concerns.
