This novel opened many questions on the reality of the Holy Grail legend being Mary Magdalene.
According to the publisher, this is the first detailed and primary-text based argument to a Celtic background of the Grail legend since 1975; the first publication on the topic by a specialist in medieval Ireland since 1955; and the first argument to propose a new interpretation based on the Irish evidence since 1930.
Offering a conspiracy theory, which is headed by the organization of Opus Dei belonging to the Catholic Church to cover up the "true" story of Jesus, the plot of the novel has helped generate popular interest in speculation concerning the Holy Grail legend and the role of Mary Magdalene in the history of Christianity.
