Grand Forks
A city of eastern North Dakota on the Red River north of Fargo. Established as a fur-trading post in 1801, it is the seat of the University of North Dakota (founded 1883). The city was destroyed as a result of severe flooding in 1997 and has since been largely rebuilt. Population: 50,400.
