Gyumri

Gyum·ri  (g-mr, gym-r) or Ku·may·ri (k-mr, -m-r)
A city of northwest Armenia south-southeast of Tbilisi, Georgia. It was founded on the site of a Turkish fortress. From 1924 to 1990 the city was called Leninakan. Population: 148,000.

Unveiling a sculpture in Gyumri depicting victims of the earthquake, Sarkisian thanked the international community for aid and support given to the then-Soviet republic after the disaster.
Mkrtchian, from the northern city of Gyumri - scene of the disastrous Armenian earthquake of 1988, which killed 25,000 people and left thousands homeless - can box as well as punch, according to his manager, ex-European bantam boss Alexander Yagupov.
But Tommy Burns and Roy Aitken hope they DON'T land the likes of Armenians Shirak Gyumri, Azerbeijan's Khazri Buzovna, Moldovian champions Zimbru Chisinau or FC Sileks from Macedonia.
