I'm not a big fan of traditional opera, but I'd seen a performance by Hatstand Opera Company in London with my husband last year and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hatstand Opera will perform 120 Lovers and Counting, a celebration of the Bard's most famous lyrics as set by composers from Purcell to Verdi and Stephen Sondheim to Johnny Dankworth, on October 17.
The other tent: The Why and Wherefores, Dr Butlers Hatstand Medicine Band, Sam Barrett, Gerry McNeice, Roger Davies, Michael Mallinson, Extra Curricular, Alice Nicholls, Fred the Oyster, Resonation, Matthew Pettifer and The Resplendents.
