We performed a study to determine if cerumen in the ear canal causes significant hearing loss and to ascertain if there is any correlation between the amount of cerumen and the degree of hearing loss.
Hearing loss is the third most common chronic condition found in the elderly population, following hypertension and arthritis.
A recent survey on MTV's Web site found that a mere 8 percent of young people say that hearing loss is "a very big problem.
