American hotel-chain organizer who acquired hotels in many American cities and in 1946 founded the Hilton Hotel Corporation.

He has been associated with some of the finest Hilton properties around the country, including the Hilton Palacio del Rio, the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort, the Atlanta Airport Hilton and the Hiltons of Chicago, including the Historic Palmer House Hilton.
In 1988, he was promoted to senior vice president of franchising for Hilton Hotels, responsible for the company's franchise subsidiary, which included more than 200 Hiltons nationwide at that time.
