Japanese artist who captured the serenity of his country's landscape with his superbly composed color woodblock prints, including Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido (1832).

Of course, any reader can find omissions and, to my mind, striking absences could be spotted in two areas: new Meiji public icons such as statuary, coinage and stamps, and continuation of the art of wood-block printing, such the oeuvre of Hiroshige III.
The crabapple tree appears to be posing/for a woodcut, possible by Hiroshige,/his Japanese trees precise, angular, yet graceful/in their delicate tracings of snow.
