As you will probably know by now, I have a real fascination for everything Spanish (my article on Hispanophilia will attest to that), so I headed over to Spain twice last year.
At this time James, for all his resentment of Scottish Presbyterian leaders--"trumpets of sedition," he called them--took seriously his role as Protestant eminence; his pronounced Hispanophilia began later.
