In an earlier news release, Fischer-Watt had noted that the silver values found to-date, in the near-surface oxidized portions of the Mercedes vein, were in a silver chloride mineral called cerargyrite, or horn silver. Horn silver is a silver chloride mineral that is often found overlying sulfide silver deposits in arid regions such as the Mercedes location.
