American baseball player. A left-handed pitcher for the New York Giants (1928-1943), he won 20 games or more during five separate seasons and, in 1937, set a major league record by winning 24 consecutive games.

On Friday, Hubbell waived his right to a hearing over his transfer to Hawaii for prosecution, agreeing to appear in court in Honolulu, Mrozek said.
