Essentials It was initially bred as an Imperial guard dog and then used a fighting dog and for hunting bears and deer.
In 1994, Oregonians voted out the practice of hound hunting bears and cougars.
Their ancestors were used for hunting bears and even wild boars, and also to fight dogs when the hunt was ineffective.
