A city of south-central Kansas on the Arkansas River northwest of Wichita. It is a commercial and industrial center in an agricultural and oil-producing area. Population: 41,100.

Hutchinson, Anne 1591-1643.
English-born American colonist and religious leader who was banished from Boston (1637) for her religious beliefs, which included an emphasis on personal intuition as a means toward salvation.

Hutchinson, Thomas 1711-1780.
American colonial official who was unpopular as governor of Massachusetts (1771-1774) because he supported British policies.
