hydrometeorology  (hdr-mt--rl-j)
The scientific study of the interaction between meteorological and hydrologic phenomena, including the occurrence, motion, and changes of state of atmospheric water, and the land surface and subsurface phases of the hydrologic cycle. Hydrometeorologic studies address questions regarding land use, the long-term effects of climate change on water resources, and regional precipitation.

Tim is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Communications in 1989 and a Masters Degree in Science in Hydrometeorology in 1999.
A 20 percent chance of rain is predicted for this morning, increasing to 50 percent by this afternoon, said Stuart Seto, a hydrometeorology technician with the National Weather Service.
In the second state, a network of hydrometeorology measurement stations will soon be using Globalstar SCADA data modems to regularly transmit rainfall and other weather information to a central data collection point.
