The British and Irish Governments had asked the IMC, made up of security experts and politicians from the UK and Ireland, to compile a special report on the status of IRA structures.
Power plea SINN Fein must agree to the dismantling of IRA structures and the money stolen in the Northern Bank robbery two years ago must be returned if they are to convince unionists to share power, Democratic Unionist MP the Rev William McCrea warned today.
IMC spokesman Lord Alderdice said a formal statement confirming the end of remaining IRA structures was now unlikely.
