A city of southwest Nigeria north-northeast of Lagos. Capital of a Yoruba kingdom c. 1800, it was taken by the Fulani in 1825 and came under British control in 1893. It is now an agricultural and commercial center. Population: 814,000.

A voluntary, confidential questionnaire was circulated to 150 Nurses at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, asking about their experience of needle stick injuries, circumstances, and reoccurrences.
The study population was made up of 262 patients who had undergone thyroidectomy for goiter at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Nigeria from January 1989 through December 2003.
The appeal court sitting in the central city of Ilorin said on Tuesday Governor Segun Oni of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) did not win the April 2007 governorship poll.
