Most companies, Matuch said, succeed by incremental innovations, the next model of existing technology that is bigger and faster.
Incremental innovation is "continuous but small-scale improvements to existing product lines and production processes," while radical innovation involves "substantial shifts in product lines, the development of entirely new goods, or major changes to the production process" (Hall and Soskice 2001, 38-39).
