A report by the federal Institutes of Medicine suggests that digital health records may reduce costly and fatal medical errors. On November 30, 1999, the National Research Council (NRC) and the Institutes of Medicine (both of the National Academies), issued three new reports in their series, Strategies to Protect the Health of Deployed U. A panel of 13 scientists appointed by the Institutes of Medicine (IOM) at the request of Congress to study the health effects of silicone gel breast implants recently announced it could find no definitive evidence linking these implants to systemic disease. |
