Sir Roy's lifetime achievements include: performing the first liver transplant operation in Europe in 1968; performing the world's first liver, heart and lung transplant in 1987; performing the first intestinal transplant in the UK in 1992; and performing the first successful combined stomach, intestine, pancreas, liver and kidney cluster transplant in 1994.
Now, he's contemplating having an intestinal transplant at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Aaron, who has got so used to visiting the city from his home near Edinburgh that he now even supports Birmingham City FC, was back again to celebrate the 15-year milestone of the hospital carrying out intestinal transplants and saving children's lives Aaron's mother Catriona Gray, a 43-year-old mum-of-two, said: "Aaron was born with a heart defect and had an operation when he was six days old, but developed a problem which destroyed his intestine.
