He is the son of legendary French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo and grandson of sculptor Paul Belmondo.
French film legend Jean-Paul Belmondo has received death threats, his ex-wife told AFP on Friday, explaining why she refused to allow their daughter to spend her holiday with him.
The main film, in which the more famous brother Aki Kaurismäki, is directed by his brother Mika, is a bit of a charmer, done deliberately in the style of the French new-wave and starring a compulsive, freewheeling central character about halfway between Jean-Paul Belmondo and Mean Streets' Johnny Boy (though he looks more like the young Johann Cruyff, chain-smoking and all).
