Jhe·lum  (jlm)
A river, about 772 km (480 mi) long, of northern India and northeast Pakistan. It is the westernmost of the five rivers of the Punjab.

(Placename) a river in Pakistan and Kashmir, rising in W central Kashmir and flowing northwest through the Vale of Kashmir, then southwest into N West Punjab to join the Chenab River: important for irrigation, having the Mangla Dam (Pakistan), completed in 1967. Length: about 720 km (450 miles)

JEHLUM, November 17, 2009 (Frontier Star): The educators of district Jhelum have been deprived of salaries since last three months and demanded to pay their salaries before Eid-Ul-Azha.
According to sources, recovery teams have been constituted for the four districts Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Attock and Chakwal of the Rawalpindi region.
He hailed from Jehlum district of Pakistan's Punjab province and leaves behind his wife, three boys and two girls.
