Karakorum

Ka·ra·ko·rum  (kr-kôrm, -kr-, kär-)
A ruined ancient Mongol city in central Mongolia. Inhabited by Turkic tribes from the first century a.d., it became Genghis Khan's capital c. 1220 but was abandoned by Kublai Khan in 1267.
