Alongside the remains of Treadwell, 46, and Huguenard, 37, a six-minute audio-only tape of the attack was discovered at Katmai National Park and Preserve on the Alaska Peninsula.
Lethal encounter: In early October, Timothy Treadmill and girlfriend Amie Huguenard, both of Malibu, California, were videotaping bears in the Katmai National Park and Preserve on the Alaska Peninsula when a large brown bear attacked Treadmill.
The area became part of Katmai National Park and Preserve with the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980.
