kibbutz [kɪˈbʊts] n pl kibbutzim [ˌkɪbʊtˈsiːm] a collective agricultural settlement in modern Israel, owned and administered communally by its members and on which children are reared collectively [from Modern Hebrew qibbūs: gathering, from Hebrew qibbūtz] kibbutz a communal farm in Israël, cooperatively owned, with members who receive no pay but who gain housing, clothing, medical care, and education from the cooperative.
